Lyman Morse, American Unagi receive grants from Maine Technology Institute

(From Penobscot Bay Pilot) Lyman Morse, in Thomaston, and American Unagi, in Waldoboro, are among 10 businesses receiving grants from MTI. Lyman Morse plans to use the $140,000 award to modernize its workshop, attract new business, and add to its workforce. New pitch competition aims to help Maine’s marine and coastal businesses

Mills launches $200 million grant program for small businesses hurt by COVID-19

(From Mainebiz) The Maine Economic Recovery Grant Program will use federal CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds to provide financial relief for businesses and nonprofit organizations that incurred business disruptions as a result of COVID-19. Businesses and nonprofit organizations can apply for a grant through September 9, with awards made in early October. UMaine assistive technology spinout UNAR Labs receives NIH award

The company plans to prototype an information access system that will help educational institutions develop accessible learning materials more efficiently.
