Maine Technology Institute to host federal officials representing $2.5 billion of early-stage technology financing for one day of meetings with entrepreneurs

The Maine Technology Institute (MTI) will host a financing event on June 20 for entrepreneurs and small businesses to meet with officials from federal funding agencies representing the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs.
 
The agency directors participating in the 2013 New England SBIR/STTR Summer Session represent funding for the: Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, Department of Homeland Security, US Department of Agriculture, National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Transportation, and Department of Energy.
 
“This is a unique opportunity for small business owners, entrepreneurs, service providers and non-profit research institutions to meet one-on-one with SBIR/STTR program managers.” said Bob Martin, President of MTI.  “We encourage any and all businesses in Maine and the entire New England region who are interested in applying for funding to join us for this important event.”
 
The SBIR/STTR program represents the largest source of early-stage research and development funding for innovative technology in the US providing more than $2.5 billion each year to small businesses across the US to help entrepreneurs take their ideas from laboratory to market. 
 
The New England Regional SBIR/STTR Summer Session will be held on Thursday, June 20 at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine.  Registration begins at 7:30 am followed by presentations starting at 8:45 am and one-on-one meetings running until 5:00 pm.
