Grow
MTI invests in innovation to help grow vibrant technology companies that create jobs, pay higher than average wages, leverage private and public investments in Maine and contribute to shared prosperity.
MTI’s investment growth extends beyond its funding to a rich support network of mentors and partner organizations invested in seeing Maine’s entrepreneurial economy grow. Working with a team of experienced business executives, active investors and resource organizations across the state, MTI offers and links entrepreneurs to assistance to help them create profitable enterprises, raise follow-on capital and grow meaningful jobs in Maine.
Assistance is available to help you prepare a strong proposal for an award application, to move successfully through your award /performance measures and continue to grow your business after your MTI-funded activities are complete. Collaborating with a network of experienced entrepreneurs and business developers, MTI awardees gain strength, confidence and build a solid foundation of a support as they launch and develop their ventures. Working with MTI, an entrepreneur might participate in the MTI-funded “Top Gun” program at MCED, connect with an experienced entrepreneur mentor through an MTI-Maine Angel Network event, prepare an investment presentation using an MTI Seed Grant or be introduced to a local venture fund or lender by MTI Team Members.
Evidence has shown that innovative companies that get seed capital along with intensive and focused guidance during their early stage will become businesses with high growth and high return prospects. We have also learned that successful technology development does not necessarily insure a successful company and job creation. MTI invites you to attend GROW workshops, call on GROW advisors, and take advantage of the mentoring, and training opportunities available to you.
To find out more about MTI’s resources for GROWING your BIG IDEA or continuing to develop your early-stage business, please contact Roger Brooks, Business Commercialization Support, at MTI at rbrooks@mainetechnology.org.
