HubZone Program, Contracting & Small Business Resources
On Friday, April 1, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) will co-host a small business seminar in Brunswick, ME. Training will be offered on SBA’s HubZone Program, which helps small businesses gain preferential access to federal contract opportunities. A new law has increased the number of midcoast communities now eligible for this program. Find out if your small business could benefit. Training will be followed by a panel discussion focused on issues important to small businesses. This event is free to the public. Breakfast and refreshments generously provided by MRRA.
Schedule as follows:
- 8:30 – 9:30am: Breakfast session with remarks from SBA Regional Administrator Seth Goodall and Members of Maine’s Congressional Delegation
- 9:30 – 10am: The HubZone program: Presented by James Pineau, Maine SBA
- PTAC 101; Presented by Kenneth Bloch, State Director, Maine Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC)
- 10:30-11:45am Panel Discussion, Small Business Contracting. Moderated by SBA Deputy Director Diane Sturgeon. Panelists: James Pineau of Maine SBA, Keith Waye of Maine SBA PCR, Kenneth Bloch of Maine PTAC, Brad Walfield, Small Business Liaison officer for Bath Iron Works.
