Liz Love Champions Maine’s Innovation Future

When Liz Love ventures into Maine’s wilderness for a snowshoe trek or summer hike, she sees more than just scenic beauty—she sees opportunity. As the Maine Community College System’s newest MTI Board designee and Director of Sector Partnerships at the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce, Love brings a unique perspective on how Maine’s natural resources and human talent can drive innovation.
“I was born and raised in Maine and get excited about any initiative to support innovation and economic opportunity for my home state,” says Love.
Having witnessed MTI’s impact firsthand through a friend’s startup journey, she’s particularly energized by projects that create quality jobs. Looking ahead, Love sees promising opportunities in artificial intelligence, sustainable resource management, and workforce development. When she’s not advancing Maine’s innovation ecosystem, you might find her strategizing with her furry “work assistants” Mr. Paws the cat and Remi the puppy, enjoying Portland’s restaurant scene, or playing card games by the wood stove with her husband and kids.
Her dream dinner companion? Social entrepreneur Mohammed Yunus, founder of the global microfinance institution Grameen Bank—a choice that reflects her commitment to innovation that drives meaningful change.
