Funding and Fall Connections: What’s Happening at MTI

Greetings!  We hope you all had a wonderful summer! If the shorter days and school buses weren’t enough of an indicator that a change of seasons is here, the cooler temps leave no doubt – fall has arrived.  As always, fall marks a busy time, and that is certainly the case at MTI.

First, we are pleased to announce another round of funding for MTI’s Innovation Ecosystem Development Program (IEDP) which you may remember from last year.

This program funds mission-based organizations whose work helps Maine’s innovation-driven companies form, grow, and scale. While most MTI funding goes directly to those innovation-driven companies, MTI uses these funds to invest in the organizations that build capacity to help Maine’s innovators thrive.  The application for this year’s IEDP Challenge is open and the deadline is Wednesday, October 14^ème at 5pm.  We will host multiple info sessions via zoom over the next few weeks, and you can learn more on our IEDP webpage.

Second, we are excited to announce our fall networking event which will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at the University of Maine as part of Forest Biomaterials Week. We are hosting this event in collaboration with Maine’s Forest Bioproducts Advanced Manufactur­ing Tech Hub.
