E2Tech Forum: Preparing Coastal Communities for Sea Level Rise - Maine Technology Institute

E2Tech Forum: Preparing Coastal Communities for Sea Level Rise

5:00-6:00 p.m. Networking Reception
6:00-7:30 p.m. Sea Level Rise Program

The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly visible in Maine and across the nation. There has been an increase in the occurrence of events associated with climate change such as intense storms, unusual temperatures, ocean warming, and coastal flooding. Ensuring the region’s resiliency to climate impacts, such as sea level rise, requires a scientifically informed and engaged public to help contribute to mitigation solutions and prepare for some of these inevitable effects.

Join the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) and E2Tech for an interactive presentation to explore the data behind sea level rise in Maine’s coastal communities.
Together we will explore models projecting impacts in your community and case studies of resiliency from across the globe.

Due to the nature of this interactive program provided by GMRI, space is limited to only 50 participants. The event will first be opened to E2Tech members until February 16 and then to the general public. If there is additional interest beyond the first 50 registrants, there will be a second session held at a later date. If you have any questions please email Melissa Winne at [email protected].
