10/2/11 - Head's up to a busy fall season
September was a busy month for MTI and we hope it previews a robust year ahead for growing Maine’s entrepreneurial and innovative economy! The new Business Innovation Program funding options and MTI’s new Brunswick office location, monthly Orono office days and expanded online access are designed to increase Maine entrepreneurs’ access to the coaching and capital that they need to grow good jobs today, tomorrow and well into the future. Please pass the word!
MTI held its first monthly office day at the Target Technology Center in Orono in September. Each month, on the first Thursday of the month, MTI staff will be available at Target Technology Center to meet with businesses, entrepreneurs and researchers who are interested in bringing new technologies to market or growing Maine’s technology clusters. We hope that establishing scheduled MTI office days in Orono will give businesses and organizations throughout Central Eastern and Northern Maine a regular opportunity and a shorter drive to meet with MTI staff to discuss their funding and growth plans. Call Linda Adams at 582-4790 x 206 the MTI office to set up an appointment for October 6 or beyond.
We have also relocated our main office to Brunswick Landing (former site of the Brunswick Naval Air Station) where we look forward to expanding MTI’s historical impact by contributing to Maine’s business attraction success by introducing new businesses to Maine’s statewide innovation assets and MTI funding programs. We believe these changes will strengthen the base that we have established over the last decade as we work to stimulate and support research and development to bring new products to the market as well to accelerate the formation and growth of Maine’s innovative companies to grow and retain good jobs across Maine.
