MTI Funds Leverage Significant Additional Financing MTI companies have secured over $155 million in debt and equity funding. For every $1 of MTI funding, $12 are leveraged in additional private and public financing.  MTI Companies Help Other Maine Companies Grow Funded companies buy 32% of their materials and 42% of their services from other Maine companies. How Do We Know? Every year, MTI funded companies are independently surveyed to measure the retun on investment of MTI's awards for the Maine economy. The measures include jobs created, wage levels, attraction of additional financing, new products and services developed and brought to the market, and other important impacts. The surveys are analyzed by Dr. Charles Colgan at the Center for Business and Economic Research, University of Southern Maine and published biannually in the "Evaluation of Maine Technology Institute Programs."
